The Cleveland
Ufology Project (CUP)
is a Northern Ohio non-profit organization that promotes scientific UFO
research, education of the public on the UFO phenomena and an open
forum for discussion.
A legal document recently discovered which was signed by Earl Neff states that CUP was founded in 1952. In 1956 an idea by Jerry and Arlene Bowers resulted in the formation of a neighborhood group to discuss Unidentified Flying Objects. This group became know as the Cleveland Ufology Project (CUP) as it increased it's membership and began holding monthly meetings in 1957. Earl J. Neff was elected the first Chairman of CUP in 1959. Earl became a well known authority on the subjecty of UFOs and appeared frequently on radio and TV stations in the Cleveland area. Today CUP still holds monthly meetings to discuss the UFO subject.
