Olmsted
Falls UFO
Incident Date: 9/26/04
Time: 9:44pm Location: Olmsted Falls, OH Investigated by George Pindroh & Aaron Clark To view photographs click here At 9:44pm a resident reported an object in the western sky that was scaring her. Officers observed with binoculars an object in the northeast sky at 10:30pm. The officers observed a round circle with oscillating red and green lights. Officers called the airport who advised that they did see the object as well but it was not on their radar. Airport Operations speculated that the object may be a satellite. The object was also report to return the next evening. At this point I believed the object might be a star or planet twinkling and changing color due to atmospheric motion and diffraction. Photographs were taken of the object. These photographs were obtained by George Pindroh and Aaron Clark. Upon viewing the photographs by this investigation team, it is not believed to be a satellite or a star or planet. First of all, a satellite would not linger in the same area for long. Typically, visible satellites move quicly across the sky in a straight line. Secondly, the object appears to be multiple colors and is blurred as if it is moving quickly. There is at least one star visible in these photographs as well and it is in focus and not blurred at all. If the blurring was caused by camera motion then everything in the picture would be blurred. That is not the case. A credible source at Cleveland Hopkins Airport was able to view the object for an hour and a half. They reported that the object looked elliptical and had lights moving around it. They stated that they had never seen anything like this ever before. The airport information desk reportedly recieved at least 100 calls from residents reporting the same object in the sky. Local radio incorrectly reported these photos and reports coming from North Olmsted Police Department. North Olmsted Police indicated that they were not involved in this situation whatsoever. However, they did recieve one phone call reporting an unknown object in the sky but they did not investigate. This is a very interesting object that remains unidentified. George Pindroh is writing up this report for the MUFON database. Some of those pictures looked very similar to this case. I showed Ted and others the pictures we have from the Olmsted Falls Police. Todd Lemire found another case in Michigan that seemed similar as well. Message from Todd Lemire: "When looking at your photos from Olmsted Falls with Ted, it brought to mind a case I had looked into here in Michigan. Here's the link http://www.michiganufos.com/hamlinifo.html The
difference in yours photos are the noted colors displayed by the object
in comparison to the white color displayed by the objects in the Hamlin
case."
I have recieved several e-mail
messages about this event. There have been a few reports of a similar
object being seen previously in Lake county, Cleveland/Euclid and
Sandusky.
