Metallic disc UFO in Mentor, Ohio

Incident Date: 1/3/07 Time: 12:00pm Location: Mentor, OH D.L., a 35 year old male, ex-Navy petty officer, writes "It was 12:00 noon. I look up all the time because I've seen ufo's before. It was up [Northwest] of my position no more than 2 miles away. And no higher than 1500ft. Blue sky background with some high clouds coming in from the west. This metalic looking disk, slowly rotating on it's side, was moving no faster than 10mph going south. It was just north of rout 2 but inbetween 306 and 615. The 2 latter streets being a north and south direction. NO noise that I could hear. Lost nation airport has small plains flying all of the time landing and taking off, so I know the difference, It was not a balloon, kite, bird, blimp, temp inversion, weather phenomenon, etc. My name is [D.L.] and I work off of [x] blvd. If interested, contact me if others have seen this ufo I saw today 1-3-2007. I was able to show one person at the time of the siting what I was seeing. She did not know what to make of it. Happy to report. I saw it for ten min. I no longer saw it after comming out the other side of a mcdonald's [sic] drivethrough. It was about 6 to 12 in diameter. I hope some other people saw it today. " The witness walked out of his workplace and saw the sunlight reflect off of an object in the sky. It appeared to be a metallic disc which was rotating at an estimated 3 rotations per minute. It was rotating on it's end like a quarter spinning on a table. The objects thickness was about 1/3 the diameter and the edges tapered but not to a point. The object was just east of Lost Nation Airport moving to the southeast at an estimated 10 mph. The witness then got in his car and drove to McDonald's nearby and was trying to watch the object while driving. When he got to McDonalds he pointed the object out to a co-worker who was able to see the object throught the trees but couldn't see it very well. It appeared to be moving south at that point. The object was then lost behind the building and trees. Using calculations of angular size given by the witness the estimated size of the object was about 100 feet in diameter. The altitude was calculated at about 3700 ft. This was based on the witness driving his car from the point of observation to the area where he believed the object was hovering. There is a discrepancy between these calculations and the initial numbers given by the witness. It is possible the object was closer to the witness and smaller than calculated.   A triangular shaped UFO was seen in the same general area a week earlier by another witness.
